A “Break the Glass” Moment

The purchase of Reisman-Sigety Halls by the Sheriff is scheduled to close in the next 14 days. 

Monday night’s Town Meeting is critical.
7:30 p.m. at the Gothic Cottage.  Come with your voice!

• Press Kyle Reger, Town Supervisor, to advise Jim Cunningham, Chair of the Madison County Board of Supervisors, to pause or rescind the purchase so that community input can be considered. This would allow alternate buyers...SEVERAL STAND READY...to come forward publicly. 
• Insist on our right to make decisions affecting our community, its safety, its character, its use of land, and local laws. The County’s bullying insistence on this location removes our ability to control our land use, nullifies the Village’s autonomy, and the Comprehensive Plans of the Village and Town. 

If you haven’t attended a Town meeting before, this one really matters.

Tuesday is a big day too!

• Vote and write in Nancy Ries for County Sheriff. Remember: “i before e” and spell it correctly! Nancy is running against Sheriff Hood and opposes the Sheriff’s purchase of Reisman-Sigety.
• Village Board meeting 7 p.m. at the Village Municipal Offices.

Urge Mayor Wheeler and the Board to appeal to the County to pause and rescind their offer. Encourage them to prepare for a planning and zoning process that involves public engagement.

Tell your neighbors, and come one and all to protect our community!

REMEMBER this is what unchecked County power looks like:

• 9/11/2025 Sheriff Hood justified using his 287(g) Federal authority to hand a local Guatemalan woman to ICE because she had false documents. He said, “I will work with anybody who can help me and magnify the authority that we have to make us stronger and to protect people.” We do not need protection from people who are here to survive and earn a living working for our local farms and businesses. We certainly do not need any Sheriff to have magnified authority that cannot be contained by local residents or the supervisors.
